Issues of Chinquapin

Chinquapin is the Newsletter of the Southern Appalachian Botanical Society and is published four times a year. It has now become an extremely important means of communication with and for the members. It carries sections on letters to the editor, endowment news, wild ideas, botanical gardens, notes on specific plants, botanical excursions and other topics. The name Chinquapin is the Indian name for Castanea pumila (L.) Miller, the dwarf chestnut, a smaller member of the genus Castanea inhabiting dry woods and thickets.
